Poly Students can get Engineer Experience with EPIC

California State University of San Luis Obispo is offering high school freshmen through juniors who are aspiring to be engineers the chance to participate in Engineering Possibilities in College. The on campus engineering program will offer workshops for one week during the summer of 2020 in order to give students hands-on experience. The week will cover a variety of engineering empathizes and have students will participate in “Projects include solar cars, rockets, programming robots, welding, creating phone apps, and building bridges,” according to the EPIC website.
The application process involves a free application that will give applicants the prompt of why they want to attend epic. There is no requirement of sending transcripts or teacher recommendation. All applications are due by April 15, 2020.
Although the program will not help students get into the cal state, the experience will allow students to apply the science that they know. In addition, the program requires participants remain on campus during the program however they provide financial assistance to students to cover room and board costs.
